
Exciting Opportunity for Young Artists: VFW Auxiliary’s 2024-2025 Illustrating America Art Contest!
The VFW Auxiliary National is thrilled to announce the launch of its 2024-2025 Illustrating America Art Contest! This exciting competition is designed to inspire and showcase the artistic talents of students in grades K-8 while celebrating patriotism through creativity.
Contest Highlights:
- Eligibility: Open to students in grades K-8 by the March 31 deadline. Participants do not need to be related to a VFW or Auxiliary member to qualify. Citizenship is not required, but students must be lawful U.S. residents or applicants for permanent residency.
- Art Guidelines:
- Entries must be two-dimensional, created during the current school year on canvas or reinforced paper.
- Acceptable media include acrylic, watercolor, pencil, crayon, ink, pastels, and more. Digital art and photography are not accepted.
- Sizes must range between 8″x10″ and 18″x24″, including matting. Framing with wood, metal, or glass is prohibited.
- Awards: Winners in each grade division (K-2, 3-5, 6-8) will receive gift cards of $100 for first place, $50 for second, and $25 for third.
Key Deadlines:
March 31: Entries must be submitted to a participating VFW Auxiliary.- April 15: District-level winners advance to state-level judging.
- May 5: State-level winners advance to national judging.
- July/August: Winners are announced and featured on VFW Auxiliary National’s social media and potentially showcased at the National Convention.
