Obituary for Marsha Smith

Marsha Kaye Wilson Smith of Henryetta met the Lord, whom she dearly loved and worshiped, on May 11, 2025. Marsha was born in Henryetta, OK on November 11, 1948 to Kenneth D. Wilson of Stigler, Oklahoma and Thelma J Thompson Wilson of Henryetta. She grew up in Oklahoma City, and attended Northwest Classen High School and Oklahoma State University where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi women’s fraternity.
Marsha married and moved to Texas, living in Dallas for 25 years. In Dallas, she gave birth to her son Jason Stephen York in 1971 and her daughter, Tiffany Kaye York in 1979. She worked in the travel industry for many years before going into real estate in Dallas where she held sales and brokers licenses.
In Dallas, she and her family attended Arapaho United Methodist Church where she was active with the United Methodist Women writing quarterly newsletter for many years and taught the 4-year old’s Sunday School Class.
In the mid 90’s, she returned to Oklahoma City where she worked again as a realtor for Norma Harris Real Estate and later held her financial securities license, working for several investment firms including Edward D Jones Investments.
With Edward Jones, Marsha wrote quarterly newsletter for her region’s Branch Office Administrators. She created the BOA mentoring Program, for her region, which coupled new-hires with veteran BOA’s assisting with their training modules and support for new BOA’s first 6 months of employment. Marsha was with Edward Jones 4-1/2 years until she married Stephen West Smith of Henryetta and moved first to Muskogee, then to Henryetta until present.
Marsha loved to cook and wrote several cookbooks. She enjoyed writing a weekly food column in the Henryetta Free-Lance newspaper for 10+ years and designing/selling natural gemstone jewelry after she retired. She was a member of Ithana.
She attended the First United Methodist Church in Henryetta and was an active participant in several bible study groups. Throughout her life, she loved the Lord, her family and lived life to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her father and her mother, her husband E. Dale York of Dallas and father of her 2 children, and husband of 9 years, Stephen W. Smith, third generation attorney in Henryetta.
She is survived by her son Jason S. York and his wife Christine and 4 grandchildren, Ashley, Emily, Brandon and Justin of Houston, Texas. And, her daughter, Tiffany York Reeder and her son-in-law, Corrie Reeder of Henryetta.


Friends and Family visitation will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 10:00am to 12:00 pm at the Rogers Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 1 pm at the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
