Okmulgee OK – The Okmulgee Service League Egg Hunt in Okmulgee sprang into action today with excitement and joy, even as organizers had to navigate some last-minute changes due to uncooperative weather. Originally planned as an outdoor event, the festivities were successfully relocated to the Okmulgee Community Center at 1201 W 7th St—a move that, according to organizers, “took an act of Congress” to pull off.

The shift to an indoor venue was the first in the event’s history, and it required swift coordination and flexibility from everyone involved. Thanks to the dedication of local volunteers and a big assist from the ladies with OSL, the transition was seamless. Their behind-the-scenes efforts ensured that families still experienced the fun, energy, and community spirit that the Okmulgee Service League Egg Hunt is known for.

Participants and vendors were asked to arrive by 9:30 AM to complete setup before doors opened at 10:00 AM. With the new indoor layout, tents were no longer necessary. Each organization was given its own designated space for games, flyers, and giveaways—offering a cozy, organized, and weatherproof experience.

While the original plan for a large scavenger hunt had to be shelved, organizers quickly pivoted to a new format. Instead of hunting for eggs across a field, children and families were encouraged to visit each booth in order to be entered for a prize drawing—keeping the interactive spirit of the event alive.

In a heartfelt message, organizers expressed deep gratitude to all who helped make the day possible: “We can’t thank each of you enough for loving on our community and the next generation!”

Despite the storm clouds, the warmth and unity of Okmulgee’s community shined brightly indoors—making this year’s Okmulgee Service League Egg Hunt one to remember.
