Oklahoma Christian University Partners with Choctaw Nation to Expand Education Access for Working Adults

Oklahoma Christian University Partners with Choctaw Nation for Online Degree Programs

Oklahoma Christian University (OC) has announced a new educational partnership with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. The collaboration provides Choctaw Nation employees with access to fully online, career-focused degree programs designed specifically for working adults, with no upfront, out-of-pocket tuition costs.

Shared Values Drive the Partnership

The partnership brings together two organizations with shared values. As a Christian university, OC educates the whole person on a foundation of faith—a mission that aligns with the Choctaw Nation’s enduring focus on faith, family, and culture.

Flexible Programs with Tuition Support

Degrees are 100 percent online, self-paced, and delivered in flexible seven-week terms. Built around the Choctaw Nation’s tuition reimbursement benefits, the partnership allows employees to begin coursework without paying tuition out of pocket and complete courses at little to no cost—up to 18 undergraduate or 9 graduate credit hours per year for courses completed with a grade of C or higher.

“We are grateful for this partnership with the Choctaw Nation and believe it allows even more in our state to receive high-quality, accessible faith-based education,” said Dr. Brian Starr, Provost at Oklahoma Christian University. “With award-winning faculty who mentor students personally and programs shaped by today’s workforce needs, Choctaw Nation employees will leave OC prepared to lead and step confidently into the next level of their careers.”

Degree Options for Employees

Available OC programs for Choctaw Nation employees include the Bachelor of Science in Business, Leadership & Technology, which prepares adaptable, effective leaders across industries, along with additional undergraduate pathways for students nearing degree completion. At the graduate level, employees can pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Science in Project Management, or a Master of Science in Systems Engineering.

“As a Choctaw Nation tribal member and associate, as well as an Oklahoma Christian University alum, I am excited for this new partnership,” said Seth Fairchild, Executive Director of Cultural Services at the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. “The knowledge I gained during my time at OC has been invaluable, and I look forward to seeing other associates gain the same skills and use those to help the Choctaw Nation grow and prosper!”
